I’ve worn this coat for over three years now, in every kind of weather Cornwall can throw at me, and it’s still one of the best outer layers I’ve ever owned. Although it’s a slim fit — definitely size up if you want to wear thicker layers underneath — it’s surprisingly warm. The fabric looks quite thin, but it’s extremely insulating and brilliantly windproof. I’ve never once been cold in it.

The hood is snug, adjustable, and stays put even in high winds. The coat is described as water resistant, but in my experience it’s handled torrential downpours without letting a drop through.

Practicality-wise, it has two zipped front pockets and two open internal pockets, which is ideal for keeping essentials secure. The zip comes right up to the chin, giving great protection on really blustery days.

After years of wear, it’s still going strong. Highly recommended.
